When Tony Orlando invited Toni Wine to join him at the Suncoast Casino in Las Vegas for the weekend of Sept. 12th, 2003. I don't think either of them quite knew what was going to happen. Well, maybe Tony O. had some ideas, but he didn't share them. What did happen was spectacular. Rather than have Toni sing backup (as she did on Dawn's first two singles, "Candida" and "Knock Three Times," and which she's always dying to do,) Tony O. kept her off stage until about an hour into the show, and then brought her out (with a beautiful intro) as his special guest. As this is still a work in progress, each show was a little different, but basically Toni did "Groovy Kind of Love" and "Black Pearl" on piano, with help from Tony and his guys (more about them below), then did "Sugar, Sugar" with keyboard player and incredible singer Kerry Cole doing the Ron Dante part and finished up with an surprise Doo Wop medley with Tony and the band.

The week before, Toni was in Vegas to see the Ron Dante and Andy Kim show at the Riviera. To close out the night, she wound up at Arizona Charlie's and surprised Sonny Charles, Sweet Louie and The Checkmates.
